Santa Monica Studio will offer two editions of the title. The Standard Edition releases in both physical and digital formats, while the Digital Deluxe Edition is digital-only. Both versions include the same pre-order bonuses centered on Dark Alchemy in-game items. Pricing has not been officially revealed, though Sony typically charges $69.99 for the standard edition and $89.99 for the deluxe version.
The announcement was accompanied by new gameplay footage showcasing Faye executing Devil May Cry-style air combos while wielding her new weapon, the Serpent Bow. Santa Monica Studio emphasizes the title aims to recapture the more dynamic combat approach of earlier God of War entries, contrasting with the cinematic tone of recent franchise installments.
With its launch confirmed for early 2027, God of War Laufey remains the next major first-party PlayStation exclusive following the release of Marvel's Wolverine.
