Until Dawn 2 was announced for a January 28, 2027 release on PlayStation 5 during Sony's State of Play showcase in September 2026. Pre-orders open on September 10.
The game follows a new team of ghost hunters called "Dead True" as they face horrors on Akishima Island. The experience maintains the franchise's signature branching narrative, where every player choice affects character fates with multiple possible outcomes, including deaths among team members.
Firesprite, the studio behind the sequel, partnered with AdHoc Studio, the team behind acclaimed Dispatch, to develop the narrative. According to the PlayStation Blog, the result is a story featuring "rich characters, razor-sharp dialogue, fraught relationships, [and] tough decisions." Every interaction can ripple with dramatic consequences.
Both standard and Digital Deluxe editions will be available, with the latter including the "Y2K Neon Vibes Pack" and "Dioramas of Death" extras.
