Bithell Games announced its next project: Vampirium: 1997, a non-linear immersive sim in which Dracula rules England and you act as his personal assassin. The game takes place in an alternate scenario during the late 1990s.
As described, the title puts you in the position of carrying out missions under Dracula's command, infiltrating locked-down locations, adapting to dynamic environments, and discovering your own methods to complete objectives. The mechanics emphasize careful planning, observation of surroundings, negotiation with characters, and upgrading vampire powers throughout the game.
According to game director Mike Bithell, the project is described as an "immersive sim boiled to its essence." The game allows multiple approaches, from discrete subterfuge to direct confrontation, with each action having consequences that affect how missions unfold.
Vampirium: 1997 will arrive on Steam in early access soon. Bithell Games is known for developing titles like Thomas Was Alone, Tron: Catalyst, and John Wick Hex.
