In an interview with Bloomberg, Twitch CEO Dan Clancy stated that Grand Theft Auto 6's multiplayer will launch in 2027. The comment comes months ahead of the game's November 19 release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Rockstar Games has described GTA 6 as a "single-player experience" and has not made any official announcement regarding when or how multiplayer will arrive. However, given the continued success of GTA Online, many expect the new game will eventually receive a robust multiplayer component.
Clancy told Bloomberg that he spent "a lot of time talking with Rockstar about their plans" and worked with them on strategies to engage creators. "You are going to see this big bump with GTA 6, but then an even bigger one next year when they launch multiplayer," he said.
It remains unclear whether Clancy was authorized to disclose this information. Rockstar has not confirmed the multiplayer timeline and did not respond to requests for comment. The PC release date for GTA 6 also remains unconfirmed, though Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick recently suggested the platform is becoming increasingly important to the company.
