It's official: Counter-Strike: Global Offensive hit its concurrent player record since relaunching as an independent game on Steam days ago, according to SteamDB data. The peak was over 68,000 players simultaneously.
The game was reintegrated to Valve's platform in 2024 after three years absorbed by Counter-Strike 2, which launched in 2023. While the number trails CS2 (which exceeds 1 million concurrent players) and Global Offensive's all-time peak from its heyday, the recovery marks renewed interest in the earlier version.
CS:GO's return as a separate title allowed players who preferred the earlier version to make a comeback, building an active community on the platform. SteamDB tracking since the relaunch in early 2024 shows consistent growth in the player base.
