Gears of War: E-Day received its first patch ahead of the official October 6 launch date. According to GameSpot, The Coalition focused the update on stability and performance improvements across the campaign, multiplayer, and Horde Siege modes.
Among the fixes was the "Bilefrog-Kalona" error, a splitscreen multiplayer-specific issue that occurred when a console or PC was suspended and players attempted to resume via Quick Resume. The error took a series-themed name, referencing the massive Locust frogs encountered throughout the game that attack with stomach acid.
The Coalition also addressed issues reported in Versus Social matches. The update rolled out during the early access phase for players who purchased Premium editions, allowing the studio to refine the experience before the official launch reaches the wider audience.
