Director Naoki Hamaguchi confirmed that Final Fantasy 7 Revelation will occupy around 200 GB when it launches in April 2027. According to VGC, the size represents a significant jump compared to its predecessors: Final Fantasy 7 Remake requires 100 GB and Rebirth needs 155 GB.
The game won't fit entirely on the Blu-ray discs in the physical version. Hamaguchi explained that the team chose not to compromise quality by trying to squeeze everything onto physical media. "Things are still getting worked out, but it's probably going to be around 200 GB of game. I understand there are a lot of opinions about this topic, but at the end of the day, the fact is we need to overcome the hardware to a certain extent," the director stated.
Hamaguchi also detailed the game's scope: a complete playthrough can take up to 100 hours if players explore all side activities and endgame content. As director, he has already finished the game 46 times during development to review and check every single element. "In a standard playthrough, if I were to review and check every asset and element in the game, it'll easily take over a hundred hours," he said.
Beyond the install size, Hamaguchi confirmed that the trilogy's conclusion will receive two story expansion packs: one focused on Sephiroth and another on Vincent and the Turks, launching between winter and spring 2027.
