Xbox appears to have started an exclusive discount program for former Game Pass Ultimate members. According to Pure Xbox, users who left the service are receiving offers to return, including 12-month Game Pass Ultimate subscriptions for approximately $16.09 per month, significantly lower than the standard $22.99 rate.
The program seems to be in an experimental phase, with offers varying across different users. The discovery emerged from online community discussions where ex-subscribers shared the discounts they had received.
Meanwhile, Xbox continues expanding its Game Pass Perks program, adding free items for subscribers throughout September 2026, featuring titles like Rainbow Six Siege and Disney Speedstorm. According to Pure Xbox, most Perks are now available to Essential, Premium, and Ultimate members, with exceptions such as Fortnite Crew and Rocket League Rocket Pass exclusive to Ultimate.
The strategy to re-engage ex-members through discounts comes as Xbox implements other platform changes, including cloud gaming usage limits for new subscribers starting in November, though existing members are protected in certain regions.
