Wreck Runners opens early playtest for September update

Xbox has opened a free playtest for Xbox Insiders members to experience content from Wreck Runners' upcoming September update ahead of its official release. According to Xbox Wire, the playtest is available on Xbox Series X|S and does not require ownership of the game to participate.

The playtest provides an early look at content planned for the update. New features include Temples, an entirely new location type for exploration and salvage; Runner color customization; a dangerous new underwater enemy; and Paranormal Progression, which introduces new narrative choices during runs.

The test build also includes new hazards, interface improvements, Trustwell Lost Salvage (rewarding exploration beyond familiar areas), and support for 15 additional languages including Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, and Russian. Crews of up to three players can join.

The playtest precedes the official September update launch, allowing the community to help test and validate the content before general release.
