The vampire RPG Nighthawks, set to launch on Steam later this month, has been classified as 'Adults Only' by Valve, resulting in its removal from platform search results and outright delisting in countries such as Germany. According to Dave Gilbert, head of publisher Wadjet Eye Games, the game faces content restrictions despite minimal depictions of sexual content.
"Valve is under the impression that this game is way sexier than it actually is," Gilbert stated. Both the developer and publisher said they are working to reverse Valve's decision.
The situation reflects an ongoing pattern of increasingly stringent content moderation decisions at Valve regarding adult material in games, with direct consequences for game visibility and regional availability.
