Persona series producer Kazuhisa Wada has once again mentioned the possibility of remakes for Persona 1 and Persona 2, this time in an interview with Rock Paper Shotgun where he discussed re-releases more broadly. According to Wada, these projects are "something we'll probably eventually do".
Wada framed the matter through the lens of cultural preservation. "It's your duty to take the things you've done and make sure they're not lost," the producer stated, emphasizing the importance of keeping classic titles accessible at a time when the industry faces ongoing challenges with game preservation, particularly as physical platforms are gradually phased out.
The comment arrives as Atlus continues its plan to revisit the franchise: Persona 3 Reload is already out and Persona 4 Revival is on the horizon. Wada's reiterated references to the earliest titles suggest these remakes may eventually land on the company's future roadmap, though no official announcement has been made to date.
