Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave launched on Nintendo Switch 2 on September 17, 2026, sustaining the tactical series' track record of success. According to Adrenaline, the game achieved a 89 score average on Metacritic, among the highest of the year and a significant jump from its predecessor, Fire Emblem Engage, which scored 80 points.
The score places Fortune's Weave on par with releases such as Resident Evil Requiem, Pokémon Pokopia, Valheim, and Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade. The launch introduces the series with an expanded narrative structure, featuring four main "lords": Theodora, Leda, Dietrich, and Cai, alongside the player avatar Eshmel.
To mark the release, Nintendo announced a North American exclusive "heroic sweepstakes" offering themed prize packs. Meanwhile, Intelligent Systems opened an online store dedicated to its games, offering Fortune's Weave merchandise, though international shipping is not currently available.
The physical Switch 2 copy includes a special design element in its interior that nods to Fire Emblem: Three Houses, as noted by Jon Cartwright. The game is now available on the platform.
