Naoki Hamaguchi, director of Final Fantasy VII Revelation, confirmed in recent media rounds that his team at Square Enix, Creative Studio 1, is the same studio developing Kingdom Hearts 4. The revelation came through Eurogamer during press interviews about the third chapter of the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy.
The announcement shows Hamaguchi is leading two of Square Enix's biggest projects simultaneously. Speaking to Deadline, the director stated that 2027 will be a pivotal year for the company, calling it the moment when "everything turns around" for the studio.
Beyond his role on Final Fantasy VII Revelation, releasing in April 2027, Hamaguchi is "pushing" Kingdom Hearts 4 forward. The confirmation of his involvement in both titles underscores his direct leadership across these major franchises during their final development stages.
