The Blood of Dawnwalker time mechanic may not return in sequels, director confirms

Director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz confirmed to Eurogamer that the divisive time mechanic limiting players to 30 days and 30 nights to save protagonist Coen's family may not feature in sequels to The Blood of Dawnwalker.

According to Eurogamer, Tomaszkiewicz acknowledges the system did not appeal to all players. Rebel Wolves has not yet decided whether the mechanic will become a core part of the franchise's identity or if it will be adjusted in future entries.

The time limitation affects every action players take in Vale Sangora, creating anxiety by forcing decisions about how to spend available turns. The mechanic's impact proved significant enough that The Blood of Dawnwalker's most popular mod completely reworks the system.

As reported by Eurogamer, the studio will not force the mechanic into sequels if it does not fit the story being told. This approach signals Rebel Wolves' willingness to listen to player feedback without discarding the original concept.
