Insomniac denies generative AI use in Marvel's Wolverine

Insomniac Games has denied using generative AI in Marvel's Wolverine following social media attention to bizarre bathroom signs discovered in the game. According to IGN, the studio confirmed that no assets in the game were generated using artificial intelligence.

The controversy erupted when a content creator shared videos showing two bathroom signs featuring distorted or "melted" figures resembling visual artifacts typical of AI-generated imagery. The images quickly spread across TikTok and gaming social platforms.

Insomniac's statement arrives amid other criticism surrounding the game. As reported by GamesRadar, the studio has also rolled out an update reducing the intensity of the scent trail (colloquially called the "fart trail" by players) following complaints about overly aggressive guidance. The developer is exploring "toggleable options" to give players more control over navigation mechanics.
