According to the PlayStation Blog, the team had the opportunity to play the first hands-on demo of Final Fantasy VII Revelation at Tokyo Game Show 2026. The hands-on session focused on a combat-centric portion of the main story, where players explored the Whirlwind Maze with eight party members.
The game marks the final chapter of the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy, launching on April 8, 2027 exclusively on PlayStation 5. Per the PlayStation Blog, the demo featured Vincent and Cid as newly playable characters alongside Cloud and the rest of the party.
Combat showcases the new FITS System, a refinement of the series' battle mechanics. Players also had the chance to face off against the boss Jenova Deathmourner during the hands-on session.
The demo reinforces the game's position as the conclusion of the trilogy that began with Final Fantasy VII Remake (2020) and continued with Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (2024).
