Sea of Thieves: Season 21 is arriving this week featuring new items, rewards, and a free-to-play weekend. According to Xbox Wire, the game will be free to download and play across all supported platforms from September 17 at 15:00 UTC through September 21 at 17:00 UTC, with no Xbox Game Pass subscription required to play online.
The season's new addition is the Parley Pennant, a ship flag that pirates can equip to signal their desire for conversation. Once activated, nearby crews will see that you're open to talking, creating opportunities for alliances, cooperative challenges, or simply sharing your favorite tattoos and stories. Players who actively use the pennant during the in-game Talk Like a Pirate Day event will earn the Parley Proficiency Sails as a reward.
The timing aligns with Talk Like a Pirate Day celebrations and aims to draw new players into Rare's shared-world pirate adventure during Season 21.
