Fortnite has launched the Hot Bat Summer event, running for five weeks starting July 16. According to Epic Games, the celebration brings DC Comics characters in beachwear, including new swimsuit skins for Batman, Catwoman, Harley Quinn, and Poison Ivy.
Some of the new cosmetics, particularly Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy, have been assigned age restrictions within the game due to their more revealing design. The event also features the return of the grapnel gun, new Shiny Hours (boosted reward periods), and multiple free cosmetics unlocked by completing event quests.
The event continues Fortnite's recent trend of seasonal themed crossovers and limited-time collaborations. The age gating reflects Epic Games' approach to content moderation for its younger player base, maintaining parental controls over visual content.
