Persona 4 Revival Will Include Changes to a Key Original Character

Atlus is making adjustments to one of the main characters in Persona 4 Revival, the remake launching February 18 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. According to General Producer Kazuhisa Wada, the team worked to "brush up" aspects of the characters and ensure they align with modern appropriateness standards.

In an interview with Anime Corner during Anime Expo, Wada explained that the changes do not affect the core story or personalities of the characters. "We haven't changed anything essential. We've just sort of refined some corners to make sure it all fits and really is appropriate for the characters and for the age that we live in now," the producer said.

P4R follows the model of P3 Reload, its predecessor, bringing alterations to the 2008 original game. While character identities remain intact, the remake aims to modernize specific elements without compromising what fans expect from the classic RPG.
