Marvel's Wolverine is officially available on PlayStation 5 as of September 15. According to the PlayStation Blog, the title marks Insomniac Games' return to superhero adaptations following the success of the Spider-Man franchise.
The game delivers a linear adventure packed with brutal combat and a narrative-driven experience. Per Destructoid, Wolverine includes 32 suits to collect throughout the campaign, ranging from early comic book appearances to the recent Marvel film (Deadpool & Wolverine), the X-Men animated series, and original designs created specifically for the game.
The production was created using full motion capture, meaning the entire voice cast worked in mocap suits at recording studios to fully perform scenes. According to Destructoid, the cast blends established talent with underserved actors who gained significant opportunities in this major production.
Beyond combat and story, the game features exploration elements: per TheGamer, whisky bottles are hidden throughout the map and a series of trophies can be unlocked, though the overall structure is more linear compared to Insomniac's previous Spider-Man games.
