Call of Duty: Black Ops 1 and 2 re-releases launching on PS5 and PS4 in July

The new versions of Call of Duty: Black Ops 1 and 2 are closer than ever to PlayStation release. According to IGN and Push Square, trophy lists for both titles have surfaced on Sony's servers, signaling that an official launch announcement should arrive within days.

Activision has confirmed that both games will receive native versions for PS5 and PS4, rather than relying solely on backwards compatibility. Iron Galaxy is handling the ports for these classic shooters.

However, the trophy lists reveal some notable cuts compared to the original PS3 versions. As highlighted by IGN, Theater Mode (which let players rewatch matches and freely move the camera), League Play, and Wager Matches have been removed. Theater Mode was particularly valued by content creators for its replay tools, while Wager Matches was a playlist where players could bet in-game currency on unique modes such as Gun Game.

Both games are expected to launch in July on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, bringing back the 2010 and 2012 originals to current-generation consoles.
