Minecraft Dungeons II launches September 29 with new biome and endgame

Minecraft Dungeons II arrives September 29 on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Cloud, according to official Xbox Wire. The title is the sequel to the 2020 ARPG and represents a bigger step forward in the action formula, emphasizing improved exploration and new mechanics.

The Sift dimension is the centerpiece of the launch. Per Laura De Llorens, design director at Mojang, the game also introduces a proper endgame system (post-campaign content) built on the strengths of the first title. The team drew inspiration from the positive reception of Minecraft Dungeons to expand the offering.

Meanwhile, mainline Minecraft will gain the Ice Caves dimension in 2027, a frozen biome marking the first new dimension added to the game in 14 years. Both announcements came during Minecraft Live 2026.
