Diablo IV's Season of Hell's Legacy, the game's 15th season announced at BlizzCon 2026, has officially launched following hours of delay due to server issues on September 15. According to Eurogamer, the delay hit multiple players, and Blizzard quickly deployed a hotfix to resolve login problems and access issues.
The season marks a nostalgic celebration of Diablo's 30th anniversary. As reported by Nintendo Life, Diablo IV: Age of Hatred Collection arrives on Switch 2 during the season, bringing back Deckard Cain (in a dream sequence) alongside three iconic bosses from Diablo II: Diablo, Baal, and Mephisto, all with updated character models and attacks.
One standout feature remained hidden in official materials until players discovered it at launch. According to PC Gamer, streamer Dioxide accessed the game during early rollout and found functional Runewords in the Horadric Cube crafting interface. When combining two specific runes with a low-quality chestpiece, the system displayed "???" instead of the standard recipe, revealing that Blizzard secretly reintroduced the classic Runeword crafting system from Diablo II.
Beyond that, GamesRadar details that the season brings significant changes to Mythic items, boosting drop rates and adding greater loot variety. Unique items now appear from level one across all difficulties, and players are guaranteed one Mythic drop from defeating Echo of Mephisto, marking Blizzard's latest effort to refine the game's rare item economy.
