Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 reveals PC specs and gameplay updates

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is getting official technical details. According to Xbox Wire, the game launches with PC specifications for Minimum, Recommended, and Ray Tracing configurations, plus a benchmark tool to calibrate performance on individual systems.

Activision confirmed the return of Shipment, a notorious map known for its tiny footprint and chaotic gameplay that debuted in the original Modern Warfare in 2007. The map features shipping containers players dash through, creating frequent spawn kills. GameSpot reports the confirmation came after fans spotted the map in the newly released PC version trailer.

Another highlight is the new Collateral mode, which has not yet received full public details. Infinity Ward is also teasing a "big week" for Modern Warfare 4 DMZ, the extraction mode returning next month with improvements following its initial 2022 launch.

In an unprecedented series change, double XP tokens now count down only during active matches, not in real-world time. According to Eurogamer, the adjustment benefits players who cannot stay online constantly. The title launches October 23.
